Here is some information and a couple of news articles about Julian Assange’s bid for a senate seat in Victoria, Australia.

Let’s all support him to win this seat.

What my friend Kyle in Australia tells me that the 2 main political parties in Australia are just as corrupt as in the USA. Including the media. All controlled by Fascist corporate criminals. Australians, Give PEOPLE POWER a new meaning. Act Now to preserve your country. The sheeple in the USA are not willing. They will lose their country.
Now the thing is, If he wins, does he qualify for diplomat immunity as a senator? Lets hope so. Lets hope this will give Julian safe passage to Australia. There will always be a threat of CIA operative assassins after him…

As the left slowly wins the battle for marriage equality across the country, the far right fringe is having an extremely difficult time coming to terms with the majority support Americans are expressing for equal marriage rights. Case in point: the Westboro Baptist Church is having an extremely difficult time with counter-protests, especially as their numbers are spread thin by the astonishing number of same-sex marriage celebrations and events around the country. In particular, the four members of the WBC that showed up to protest in Cranston, Rhode Island, were actually outnumbered by the police monitoring the demonstrations — not to mention the far larger group of people standing in opposition.

In the video below, you can see the Westboro Baptist Church members protesting in Rhode Island, carrying their garish signs and singing versions of popular music that have apparently had lyrics shoved into them by some hateful, anti-gay cousin…

This week thousands of fast food workers staged a series of one-day strikes during peak mealtimes in seven cities across the United States. The campaign is pressuring fast-food chains to pay a “living wage” of $15 an hour.

Earlier this year, President Barack Obama called to increase the minimum wage to $9 earlier this year, but labor groups and protesters are demanding about double the amount they currently earn.

Stephanie Hernandez-Gonzalez, a former cafeteria worker in Texas, says that raising the minimum wage to $9 an hour would help, but that it’s still not enough to live on.

Hernandez-Gonzalez began working at a school cafeteria after her temporary administrative job ended. She says it was the only job she could find at the time. As an administrative assistant, she was earning $14 an hour, but at the cafeteria she was paid minimum wage– $7.25 an hour– and was only offered…

(CNN) – As their final act before leaving for their August break, lawmakers in the House of Representatives voted Friday to disallow the Internal Revenue Service from implementing the Affordable Care Act – their fortieth attempt to repeal or gut the law known as Obamacare.

The measure sponsored by Rep. Tom Price of Georgia passed 232-185, though like all other attempts by the GOP-led House to end the health care law, it’s expected to go nowhere in the Democrat-controlled Senate.

During his first presidential race, Barack Obama pledged to “expand and fund AmeriCorps from 75,000 slots today to 250,000” volunteers, putting service-minded millennials to work on the nation’s toughest problems.

After just three months in office, he signed the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act authorizing the expansion of the Clinton-era program to the goal of 250,000. He had kept his promise, Obama boasted, and he declared 2009 the dawn of a “new era of service.” [Read the full article]

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A judge ruled Wednesday to block a North Dakota law that requires doctors who perform abortions to have hospital admitting privileges, after opponents of the bill argued it would shut down the clinic.

East Central District Judge Wickham Corwin presided over a 30-minute hearing about the bill, one of four anti-abortion laws passed this past session by the Republican dominated Legislature and signed by Gov. Jack Dalrymple.

Afterward, Corwin signed a preliminary injunction stopping the law from taking effect Thursday, when several new bills officially become part of state code.

“Certainly none of this comes as a surprise,” Corwin said from the bench. “I haven’t heard anything in the last 15 minutes or so that changes my understanding or the facts or my thinking regarding the appropriate outcome.”

Tami Kromenaker, director of the Red River Women’s Clinic in Fargo, the state’s sole abortion provider, showed up…

Now that George Zimmerman has shown the way, the KKK is trying to start neighborhood watch programs nationwide.

Some residents in Springfield were greeted by a flier in their front yards the other morning from none other than the local area Ku Klux Klan. While most groups seeking to advertise something they’re wanting to promote might stick paper fliers on cars, put a few yard signs out or staple a couple of advertisements on a few light poles—the KKK didn’t quite go that route.

Oh no, they took their fliers, then used a rubber band to attach them to rocks and threw them into residential yards overnight. Because nothing says “sleep well” quite like the KKK throwing rocks into your yard while you’re sleeping.

But this isn’t just an isolated KKK group that’s starting a neighborhood watch, apparently this is part of a nationwide push from the KKK to recruit…
